Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. Three Barlickers turned out for this event and it was the first triathlon for Heather Driver.  She took to this discipline like a natural ,completing  the swim section like a dolphin and finishing 198 overall out of 684 finishers.

Pos Name Swim T1 Bike T2 Run Total Time
171 Paul Elcock 11:09 1:23 47:28 1:12 22:52 1:24:04

375 Rachel Lowther  12:28 2:46 51:31 1:42 27:50 1:36:17

Harley Treitl was our only junior out in this race and as usual, he put on a great performance.  He finished 4th overall, but but most of those in front of him were in a higher age category

4 Harley Treitl 8:22

A few Barlick speed merchants turned out for the latest race in this series and they were led home by James Tingle.  But look who was second for Barlick. .  None other than young Jack Villiers who was out mixing it with the seniors and beating his mum into the bargain.

17 Jack Villiers 19:48
19 Rachel Villiers 19:57
23 Emma Bailey 20:46
26 Laura Craig 21:05

Richard Treitl was our sole representative in this race and he completed it in a time of 2:42:38, finishing 85th out of 90 finishers.  He struggled in the afternoon heat, which was much hotter than predicted, which probably explains why his time was quite a bit slower than the last time he took part in this race, two years ago.

136 John Boothman 1:43:04
172 Gary Bradley 1:48:31

The ladies made the trip to Sutton in Coldfield today and did the club proud yet again. Both men and ladies qualified with their excellent showing at Blackpool two weeks ago. The men had 6 of the original team missing so it was left to the ladies to fly the flag.
Annabel Ralph got the team off to a great start finishing 29th on the first leg and the returning Sarah Tipler ran the fastest Barlick short leg taking back 3 places. Rachel Villiers was only 8 seconds off Sarah's time and pulled another place back and the team were 25th. Jen Hird then took over on the long leg and managed to only lose two places. Leanne Dinsdale pulled one back on leg 5 and Emma Bailey anchored the team home in 26th place. A quality result yet again from the ladies.
