Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. Richard Treitl did this 5 miles / 1001ft ascent race couple of years ago.  He was 28 seconds slower this year.  It was nothing to do with Richard's declining years, but was down to the significantly larger field holding him back at the start.

The race was won by Chris Donnelly of Sale Harriers in 37:18.  Richard finished 170th out of 208 in 1:01:36.

Three Barlickers took to the roads this weekend in this race. All ran well and came away with 10 mile pbs. The race was won by Robert Affleck of Preston Harriers in 54.11. Lee Parrington was 1st Barlicker back in 56.13. Mark Holgate also had a good run and looks like he had a battle finishing 17th in 61.11, with James Tingle 20th and not too far behind in 61.37.

The Villiers family seem to be getting a taste for cross country running and were out this weekend at this event.  Young Jack was 11th out of 41 in the U13 boys race whilst mum (Rachel) was a top twenty finisher in the senior ladies race.
