Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. Report by John Boothman

A rather damp day at Ingleton today and it was very cloudy and windy at the trig.  I have done this race quite a few times since I started running and I do like it.   A hard slog to the trig followed by an initial technical descent leading to a fast path and track.  The race was won by Joe Baxter of Pudsey & Bramley in 49.16.  Nick Trietl and Dan Mills both had good runs finishing 4th & 5th.
Andy Berry was 20th.  Lucas Payne didn't choose the best line down from the trig, costing him some time & he finished 24th.
I had a reasonable run to come in 37th in 65.15 just loosing a place a metre from the line after a lapse of concentration!
Paul Elcock was 40th in 67.13 which was nearly 5 mins faster than last year - improving every race.  Laura Craig was 5th lady.

Gary Bailey could have chosen a less hilly course and a cooler day for his first half marathon, but  nevertheless, he finished it and was pleased not to be last.

Report by John Boothman

I have to say it was a big day.  We left at 7.15, about 2.5 hour drive, then near 6 hours running and then the drive home.  It is the toughest race I have done to date. Stephen Shorrock set off well but the distance and climb took its toll and he lost time in the second half but still finished first Barlicker.

16 Scott McCredie 22:29

Tom Addams of Ilkley Harriers won this race in 37:29 setting a new course record.
