Lothersdale Fell Race - 3 May 2017

This race saw Stephen Chew back in the fell race scene where he came up against Jack Smith, a regular winner of this race.  Steve gave him a run for his money, but in the end, younger legs prevailed and once more, young Jack took the honours.  It was quite a race, in that whilst Steve was trying to chase down Jack, his team mates were chasing him and he finished just ahead of Nick Treitl and John Whiteside.  Barlick dominated this race in that the club secured five places out of the top ten finishers, with Carl Pawson narrowly missing out on joining that group.

The ladies race saw Sarah Tipler return to the fells to win the ladies race by a comfortable margin.  After her gruelling performance in the Three Peaks race, Leanne Dinsdale put in a surprisingly good performance to finish second woman, making it a Barlick 1-2.  Further down the field, it was good to see new runners Victoria Peel and Donna Milligan out on the fells and with more race experience, these girls will only get better.

Barlick were first teams in both categories with Victoria Peel being the third counter for the girls.
