Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. When Danny Collinge is on form, he takes some beating and so it proved today, when he came home in first place.  There was a battle going on behind him for second place between two Barlick team mates, with David Mirfield just shading it over Nick Treitl.  Those two performances, together with a great run from Jon Cleaver ensured that Barlick took the team prize.

In the ladies race, Jacqueline Collins has a great run to take the honours and she was chased home by Rhiannon Wickham of Clayton and a terrific performance by 16 year old Briony Holt saw her take third place. The fourth lady home was Claire Vincent of Clayton and with three runners out of the top four finishers, the Clayton ladies took the team prize.

John Boothman made the trip up to Edinburgh for this race.  The conditions were not as hot as expected, but there was a strong headwind for most of the race, although fortunately, this turned to a tailwind for the last 6 miles.  John finished in a time of 3:22:14 which is a PB for him.  John was very happy with this as his last PB was in 2014.  He was 15th in his age category.
