Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. Scott Boardman took part in this race and reports that he got lots of encouragement wearing his Barlick vest.  The two lap course was hilly and in addition, it was really warm and windy, but the supporting crowds were great.

Scott finished in 78th position in a time of 1:38:23 which is a new PB.

There were around 600 starters.

A proud moment for Harley Treitl today as after winning the U8/U10 race, he met  Olympian Rower, Andy Hodge.

In winning his race, Harley made history, as it was the first ever win for a junior member in a fell race.  Another junior, Jenna Boothman, showed typical Boothman  grit by running today in the Park Run at Skipton, then at Gargrave Show and finally at Burnsall.  The junior training sessions only started recently, but they are well attended by a large bunch of enthusiastic youngsters, so expect to see more Barlick junior members in fell races in the future.

Finishing places and times for those who turned out today are as follows:

U8/U10

1 Harley Treitl 4:43
20 Harry Carpendale 6:34
25 Clover Edwards 6:55

U12/U14

16 Elliot Phillips 8:07 (7th U12)
31 Jenna Boothman  9:03 (3rd race of the day)
