Jon Cleaver and Luke Turner won the pairs race last year and were keen to emulate their success again. But, after 6 miles, Jon twisted his ankle and they fell back a little, However, after another couple of miles, it numbed off and they fought their way back up the field, knocking 5 minutes off their last year's finishing time and easily running out race winners. In the euphoria of their win, they vowed to return next year and try to not only make it a hat trick, but to try and do it in a sub 3:30 time.
Jon is now going to let his ankle recover for a couple of days and then start tapering for the bog one in three weeks time
In the singles race, Craig Storozuk finished in 12th place.
