Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. A win for Nick Treitl in the Senior Race and a 3rd for Harley Treitl in the FRA Junior Championship Race

It was a day out for the Treitl family with Nick and Richard taking part in the senior race.  At the moment, we are not sure where Richard finished, but Nick came away with the honours for Barlick.

Great run too from Harley in the Junior Championship Race.  Looks like there could be a celebration in the Treitl household tonight.

Chewy led the men home, finishing in 3rd place and he was closely followed by Shaun Chew and Sam Gibbs

Whilst everyone in the club seemed to be anticipating the Calderdale Way Relay, Tim Piggott was making his way, along with Karl Zeiner, up three of the highest peaks in the Lake District.  The total ascent is 3050 metres and the distance separating them is 59 kilometres.

They finished in 61 position in a time of 9:52:28

Not available on the day of the race was the fact two Barlick juniors turned out for a run in the U8 race.  They finished as follows:

23 Harry Driver 3:09
24 Ruby Beresford 3:12

Two intrepid Barlickers made the journey to Austwick to take on this fell race. Nick Charlesworth of Wharfedale won the race by 4 seconds from Chris Singleton. Mick Keegan came 40th and Jack Ingham was 135th out of the 169 that ran.

The winner of this race was Simon Bailey who came home in 15:35.  A top ten finish however, for Chris Smale who finished in 10th position in a time of 18:31

Jean Rawlinson was our only representative in this race.  She naturally won her category and was 59th overall out of 79 runners.

59 Jean Rawlinson 62:46 1st FV60

Tom 'Machine Gun' Corrigan set off hard from the start, but was eventually passed by Julian Hood after 2 miles. After that, the race pretty much settled down. The Barlick men took the team prize with Julian 4th, Tom 6th, Chewy 8th and Sam Gibbs 21st. Also running were Andy Driver, Derek Walkden, Rachel Lowther, Lucy Beresford and Heather Driver. Great to see Lucy back racing again.

The race was won by Jamil Parapia from Otley AC in a time of 41:15.  The Barlickers finished as follows:

4 Julian Hood 41:55
6 Tom Corrigan 42:35

337 finishers

Tom Addison won against a stacked field in a time of 47.11.  Sam Gibbs was running for Barlick and finished in a time of 1:00:55 and 25th place.
