Some great racing today from our juniors with six of them picking up podium positions. Betsy Pickles had a good run to win the U7 race and Harry Roberts had a great run to win the U9 race with Bella McCredie following up her win yesterday with a 2nd place today. Chloe Boothman took second place in the U11 races and in the U15/U17 race, it was great to see two team mates battling it out at the front of the field, with Jack Viliers winning the U15 race and Alex Mason winning the U17 race.

A good turnout from our juniors for this night event.. There were some great performances all round with a few notching up first places. The Under Nine race was interesting. The first four places were all taken by girls, so Harry Driver finished 5th overall, yet he won the boys race. Is this a sign of things to come? It was good to see Oscar Clayton take a podium position in this race.

Six Juniors made the trip up to Scotland for The 162nd Alva Games. With the hot weather lately, it made a very steep race even more trickier as the mountain was very dry and dusty. A few pre race nerves after the recce soon disappeared as a brilliant run from Harley Treitl brought him home in 2nd place. A few worried looks before the start didn't stop Lucille Pickles storming home in 7th place after a fantastic run, to take the 1st girl prize. Next in for Barlick was Jody Whitfield finishing 4th girl, just missing out on a spot on the podium. Evie Scott made the small trip from Dunblane to represent her hometown club once more, to finish 7th girl after going nearly 8 months without a hill race. Lily-Grace Clayton rounded off the girls with a great effort to finish 9th girl, followed by her brother Oscar Clayton, who put in a fantastic effort to finish 29th overall after been unable to get up the hill on the recce.

Well done to all the Barlickers who turned out, as they made the effort to go to this far away race. They all ran really well and made their presence felt and are a great credit to the club. A special mention should go to to Jacob Reeday who finished 1st U12 boy. He ran a fantastic race, leading from start to finish. His lead was such that the gala announcer missed him coming in and thought the 2nd place boy was coming in first.
Lucille Pickles, who was 1st U12 girl, had a very strong run finishing high up the field,
Then there was Isaac Reeday, who was 2nd under 9 boy & Oscar Clayton, who came home 3rd U9 boy for his 1st ever top 3 finish.
They finished as follows:

5 Jack Villiers 22:28

There were good performances all round from the Barlickers, with David Mirfield coming home in 2nd place and Jon Cleaver in 4th. Together with a top ten finish finish from Andy Collins, it was just enough to take the team prize, by one point.
A brilliant run from Jacqueline Collins saw her take 1st place, ahead of team mate Rachel Villiers. This together with a strong performance from Paula Cullen was again enough to take first team place, again, by just one point.
