Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. Today a star was born.  Young Beulah Cranham has been doing very well in both the junior and senior park runs.  However today, she made her debut in fell racing.  She has not long since gone eight years old and she entered the U10 race.   Despite the age disadvantage, she took the honours and came home in first place and by doing so, earned herself a tenner.

She still has much to learn about fell running, but what a promising start.

Pendle Park Run - 18 April 2026

Pendle is not the easiest local park run with much of it off road and coupled with the long climb from the bottom of the park makes it ideal preparation the coming Bofra season.  Beulah Cranham is thriving under these conditions and this week, she earned herself another PB, beating her previous PB last month by an amazing 90 seconds. She is only 8 years old and if she continues in this vein, this young girl is going to be a star of the future.

It was lovely to see the new crop of young Barlickers out today.  For many of them, it was their first race, yet they all did extremely well with Pearl Brimblecombe coming away with a silver medal, with others so tantalisingly close.  For their first outing, the whole squad smashed it.

They finished as follows:

U12 Girls One Kilometre
2 Pearl Brimblecombe 8:12
5 Esme Watson 9:03
7 Jessica Laycock 9:15

U12 Boys Two Kilometres
5 Oliver Throup 8:49
9 Sam Pigott 9:28

U10 Boys One Kilometre
6 George Calvert 3:41
11 Jack Lambert 3:58
17 Nate Carson 4:22
22 Dylan Gorton 4:58
