Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. Lothersdale Show - 4 July 2026

Full Results

This is one of the oldest races in the calendar and over the years, the course has changed many times.  The last course endured for about fifty years, but it had all sorts of issues and was looking tired.  This year was the first year of a brand new course.  It avoided the problem of the old route which went for some distance along the lane through the village.  Instead, the runners now leave the show field and set off immediately up the hill.  Being the first running of the new course, it revealed one or two minor issues which need ironing out, but nothing major and next year the new course should be even better.  The feedback from all participants was good and the older ones enjoyed the challenge of racing juniors who are quite fast over the relatively short distance of this race.

The race is unusual in that young and old run together.  As often happens in such a race, the youngsters set off at a furious pace and their elders had to sprint hard to catch them.  In the men's race, it was Nathan Hird of Wharfedale Harriers who ran out the race winner, chased home by Ben Whitehead of Barlick Fell Runners.  Not far behind them was Under 15 boy, Will Parker of Keighley & Craven and just behind him was Noah Sheas of Craven Energy, who actually lives in the village.

Amazingly, the ladies race was won by an Under 11 girl, Sophie Broadhead of Keighley & Craven who was chased home by Dolcie Brigg of Holmfirth and Aravon Aliho of Keighley & Craven.  All were juniors and Aravon is actually a member of Lothersdale Young Farmers.

Thanks must go the the local land owners and farmers who have been very cooperative and helpful in facilitating this race.

Mont Blanc Trail Races - 27 June 2026

John Boothman, Pete Jackson and Glenn Whittaker went over to Chamonix for these races.  Glenn entered the 10K race and earned a podium place by finishing third in his age category.   He was an impressive 278th out of 1841 starters.  Pete and John did the 23K race, which is actually 25K and has some tough climbs on terrain which is very similar to the Lake District.  Pete was 5th in his age category and John was 15th.  However, they have different age splits to what we are used to.  The weather there was hot, the scenery was stunning and it was an amazing experience for all three runners.

10K Race
278 Glenn Whittaker 1:02:18 (3rd in age category)

23K Race
641 John Boothman 4:11:26 (15th in age category)
