The club was formed in December 2012 at an inaugural meeting in the Cellar Bar, Barnoldswic, with the intentions of being a fell running club. The main aims of the club were to increase the participation of running in Barnoldswick and to keep organised running as accessible as possible, by keeping membership costs low. In the three and a half years since that first meeting the club has come a long way. We now compete successfully in Road, Cross Country, Fell and Trail. We have had many individual and team successes for a club so young.
The club cater for all abilities, but the emphasis is on improving and competing at whatever level you feel you are running at. The club prides itself on improving and trying to get better. Through the winter months, we hold training sessions from Monday to Thursday, but during the summer months, we drop this back to two nights a week so people can get out and race.
The junior section was set up in 2015 and we have already amassed over 50 junior members. The club itself has around 230 members at present and is still growing. If you are forward thinking and are wanting to join a like minded club then this is the club for you. Please see our calendar and training pages for sessions and if you are wanting to join the club please see the membership page.
