This was the 6th major marathon for John Boothman this year in his pursuit of the Abbott's Six Star medal. This is an exclusive award to all those finishing the six top marathons in the world, in the same year. As usual, John did not do enough training for this event. He is just too busy a man. His objective in this race was therefore to finish as it was the culmination of his running this year. There were many people who dropped out of the race, mainly due to heat exhaustion, but John managed to keep wet and hydrated. His finish time was one of his slowest, but he achieved his objective and is now the proud owner of the Six Star Medal. It is yet another milestone in John's remarkable running career.
