Relay season has come thick and fast with many still recovering from Calderdale 16 runners made their way up to Patterdale for this Lakeland classic. Weather forecasts had been up and down on the days leading up to the race with speculation that a 'bad weather' route would have to be implemented, however this was not the case and the original route was run. A damp day in the lakes lay ahead for the BFR runners.
The mens team got off to a good start and as Shearer and Bez arrived at Hartsop they were in 11th place, further down the field Laura and Vic put in a strong performance to bring the ladies home in 34th and amongst the top ladies teams. Leg 2 saw Poole and Smurf & Jacqueline and Emma take the reigns from Hartsop to Kirkstone Pass, the men arrived in 8th and the ladies 58th. At Kirkstone it was over to Andy and Ben for the men and Leanne and Sarah for the ladies by Hart Crag the men were now in 13th with some catching to do and the ladies in 55th. The final leg saw Jimmy and Tom Lorraine and Molly tackle the final section back to Patterdale. The men crossed the line 13th and the ladies 55th taking 4th Ladies team, an extraordinary result battling against some strong lakeland teams.
