There were two races in this event, a 30 mile race and a 45 mile race. Barlick Fell Runners had a brilliant day and too the honours in both races.
In the 45 mile race, Dave Mirfield ran a scorcher and came home in 1st place a full 38 minutes before the chasing pack. John Boothman's knee must have held up as he finished in just over ten hours and first M60.
In the 30 mile race, Andy Berry came home in first place a comfortable eight minutes in front of the chasing runner, whilst in the women's race, Emma Law took the honours comfortably, a full twenty five minutes before the second place runner. It was good to welcome back Kerrie Bretherton to competitive racing and it was good too to see Lydia Hirst complete her first long race.
Lisa Gee had a crack at the walker's race and came home 3rd F40.
All in all, a good day for the club.

This event put on by Ted Mason seems to becoming more and more popular and this year, it attracted 195 entrants, including names we do not seem to have seen around for a while, like the evergreen Norman Bush and Paul Harlow.
The competition is between cyclists and runners and this year, the honours went to Barlick Member, David Mirfield who was competing as part of Hope Factory Racing. "Smithy" also took part on his bike and he still ended up in his usual 1st M60 position. Ther only Barlicker to keep his feet on the ground was Karl Nevison who finished in 28th place and 18th runner.
The event concluded by hot drinks, sandwiches and cakes in the barn, followed by the presentation in the local pub.
