Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. A good run too by Andy Smith who took his customary 1st V60 place.

As there was no local fell running today, Robert Cranham went over to Leeds for what should have been a 9 mile race.   Robert was amongst the leading group who all went the wrong way due to a sign pointing in the wrong direction and this led to them all running an extra 2 miles.  He finished first out of that leading group, but 12 overall.  A bit disappointing, but that is the way that it goes.

There is life in the old dog yet.  Nick Treitl took part in the BOFRA championship this year and he only entered the minimum number of races.  Fortunately, he was first M40 in each of those races and as a result, he was became the 2025 M40 BOFRA champion and was presented with his award at the BOFRA Presentation Dinner held at the Rolls Royce Club.
