Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. Despite an outbreak of man flu and some still not recovered from the New Year celebrations, there was a good turnout of 13 runners, including 2 ladies, for this first social run of the year. Expect a few more next week, when everyone is back to normal.

The New Year sees the club start to get under way and already, it will be organising three classic fell races in the current year. These are the Pendle Cloughs race, the Weets race and the FRA championship race, Buckden Pike. Details of all these race can be found under the "Races We Organise".

Three Barlickers turned out for this race and entered into the spirit of the occasion by dressing up in matching Crime Investigation Suites.

On the serious side, Tom Addison of Helm Hill won the race in 42:09 and Holly Page of Calder Valley was first lady in 50:41.

The Barlickers finished:

161 John Boothman 59:09
232 Dave Halliday 64:08
328 Rachel Lowther 72:21
