Craig Shearer has finished 3rd two weekends on the bounce but this time he went two better and won this race beating Tom Collinge of Queensbury into 2nd place and Gav Mullholland into 3rd. Times not yet available.
A great run today from Ian Livesey saw himself finish in 11th position overall and set a new club record for a marathon of 2 hrs 30 mins. Matt Lalor too got himself into a good rhythm and finished in the top twenty not far behind Ian. Further down the field Mark Holgate pulled a hamstring early on in the race, but to his credit he kept going to finish his first marathon. At his third attempt, Tim Pigott managed a sub 3 hour finish as did Dan Taylor who finished not far behind him.

This is a 27 mile run over Warton Crag, through the picturesque villages of Silverdale, Yealand, Sandside and the seaside village of Arnside. It is a varied route made up of a mixture of hills, roads and off road running, covering a distance of just over a marathon with 2,000 ft of climb. Incredibly, Barlick took the first two places.

It was the first round of the English champs fell season on Saturday and due to the road relays we only had Virgil Barton in attendance. That being said, Virgil put in a cracking performance in a stacked field, finishing 41st in 1.45.56. The race was run by Tom Addison of Helm Hill in a fierce descent to the finish, when after 14 miles of running, there was only a minute between the top 6.

The men for the first time entered two teams into the northern 12 stage. The A team was the strongest we've fielded but were still missing a couple due to injuries.
With this we were looking to break into the top 10 for the first time in the clubs short history. Tom Corrigan and John Whiteside got the mens team under way on the super fast 1st leg and both ran well. Tom ran the fastest Barlick long leg on the day against the big boys. The A team were 20th after leg 1 and the B team were 42nd. Marc Hartley started cutting through the field with the fastest short leg of the day and pulled the A team up to 12th, Dan Balshaw just recovering from injury lost a few places for the B team.
3 Charles Morgan 18:20
Mark Holgate was our sole representative in this race, finishing a very creditable 21st and continuing on from his good performance in the last Mid Lancs Cross Country race.
1 Richard Burney(Liverpool) 25.35

Conditions were not brilliant for this race, which some described as a rain-sodden bog fest, yet it still managed to attract a record turnout, including five Barlickers. A good run from Andy Collins saw him secure a top twenty finish.
