John Boothman decided to do this race a little while ago and pre-entered. He set off in good time and and all went well until he was 4 miles from the race, when the traffic came to a standstill. It took one hour to go one mile. The race start time was 9:30 and the time was now 9:10. Along with many others, John decided to abandon the car and run in, only to learn on arrival that the organisers had responded to the chaos and delayed the start. Any way, that was a 3 mile warm up in place. His race details were:
363 John Boothman 43:31
5029 finishers.
By the end of the day, he had done 20K
Tom Cornthwaite turned out for this race and showed his class by beating the rest of the field by over two minutes. Marc Hartley just managed to beat Gary Shaw to come home in second and in doing so ensured that he will win the league. It has been a close contest this season between Marc and Jimmy Craig and well done to Marc in showing his tenacity to secure the title.
