Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. The seniors and the U17s run together on the same course and the U17s dominated the proceedings.  This race was won by a young whippet, Sam Smith of Wharfedale Harriers who fair breezed up and down the climb to the Cowling Pinnacle and Tower and he was followed home by his team mate and another U17, Alex Thompson.  In third place and first senior was Nick Treitl.

Despite the effort he put into the Park Run this morning, young Jack Villiers was out again this afternoon, mixing it with the seniors and coming home in 5th place overall and 4th U17 runner.  He was followed home by Chris Smale who was 1st M50 and in 8th place overall and 1st M40 was Scott McCredie.

This race was won by Elite Runner Alberto Vender from Italy in a time of 1:06:41.  Italy had three finishers in the top ten and as a result took the team prize.

Given that there were so many Elite Athletes in this race, Tim Chadwick came home in a respectable 77thd place and even Richard Treitl left over sixty runners in his wake even though he was disappointed with his race.   No good views on the day, as the summit was enveloped in cloud.  The Barlicker's times and places were:

77 Tim Chadwick 1:25:23
513 Richard Treitl 2:13:15

The race winner was Rhys Findlay-Robinson of Dark Peak in a time of 3.59.55.  The Barlickers finished as follows:

54 Ben Hoyle 5.34.45
80 John Boothman 6.04.24
83 Gary Bradley 6.07.53
87 Jack Ingham 6.09.42

There were 107 finishers out of what must have been 180 starters.

12 Nick Treitl 24:35

Welcome back to Virgil Barton who was the only Barlicker in this championship race.  He celebrated his return to the club with a very creditable performance, finishing 44th out of the 201 finishers in the men's race.

44 Virgil Barton 1:33:40

This is a tough challenge.  It is 40K of mountain terrain with 3,000 meters of ascent and it was a quite incredible run from Luke Maude to complete the course in just over five and a half hours.

99 Tim Pigott 8:34:12

It was a cracking run by Craig Shearer who came home in second place, having just been pipped to the finishing post by Jack Cummings of Ilkley Harriers.

2 Craig Shearer 40:38
48 Tony Duffy 61:43
63 Richard Treitl 73:27

Great run by Danny Mills to finish second in this race and a top twenty finish too (just) for Scott McCredie

2 Danny Mills 19:17
20 Scott McCredie 23:18

67 finishers

This is quite a new race and is similar in elevation to Hendon Brook.

5 Andy Berry 1:36:51 (1st M40)
8 Daniel Plant 1:39:55

29 Nicola Muller 24:57 (New PB)
