This is a new race this year, organised by Trawden AC and it was just a bit of a tester. It is 26.2 miles with 4,495 ft of ascent and similar to the Yorkshireman. Next year this race will be on the 22nd September 2019 under the guise of The Lancashireman!
Tim Piggot set off at a steady pace which he maintained throughout the race and took the victory. John Boothman surprisingly found himself in second place, but he had to battle as it is a while since he ran such a distance.

Tom Bebee joined the club soon after it was formed, but more recently, he has been keeping a low profile. However, it is good to know that he is still running and this weekend, he had a trot out in this race and came home in 35th place in a time of 4:22:58.

For those who are wondering, this is a new Park Run in Ulverston in South Lakeland. The course is full of twists and turns and the terrain is a mixture of grass, mud, woodland and tarmac. In addition, it was raining heavily during the race. However, in Barlick Fell Runners, we have a tough set of up and coming youngsters. Not deterred by the weather or the terrain, young Lucille Pickles went out and put in another one of those sterling performances we have come to expect of her. She not only finished as the first female runner, but she also broke the course record for a JW10 runner.

The main aims of the club are to increase the participation of running in Barnoldswick and to keep organised running as accessible as possible.
