Junior Club Fell Championships
These championships came to a halt during the covid epidemic, but now we have a new junior coach, we are hoping to revive them once numbers allow.

This was a bit of a different slant on fell running, with only uphill running.
10 Dan Mills 21:22
These races were unusual in that they were uphill only. Jack Reeday demonstrated how good he is at ascending by coming home in second place behind Rowan Ashworth of Ambleside in the U11 race, where there were 66 finishers.

The conditions were perfect this year for this race. The course was bone dry, it wasn't too hot so fast times were expected. However, the record set by Andy Norman in 2006 stays in tact. It is a ridiculously fast time and sets a serious challenge for the future. It was Mark Addison who took the win in a good time, being chased home by Matthew Hobbs of Pudsey. Of the locals, Nick Treitl continued his comeback with another good run just in front of John Whiteside. Julian Hood was 5th thus bringing home the team prize for Barlick.
The ladies race was won Holly Page from Calder Valley, with Sarah Tipler taking second place. Third was the ever improving Rachel Villiers. Laura Craig came 7th so the Barlick ladies took the team prize.
Other notable performances on the night were 1st vet 50 for Chris Smale, 1st lady 65 for Jean Rawlinson and excellent performances from Jenna Boothman and Jack Villiers.
Thanks once again to the marshals, volunteers and Earby Cricket Club for holding the presentation.

A few member entered this event as Barlickers. Heather Driver once more showed what a natural she is at this event and came home 63rd overall and 9th lady, despite suffering from "Three Peaks Legs" in the final run.
Three of the men entered as a relay team and came first. The were Luke Maude (swim), Andy Berry (bike) and Nick Treitl (run). During his ride, Andy Berry was knocked off his bike and sustained a broken collar bone, but he still managed to finish. The times for the Barlickers were as follows:
Pos | Name | Swim | T1 | Bike | T2 | Run | Total Time |
1 | BFR Relay Team | 5:32 | 0:52 | 40:53 | 1:07 | 18:51 | 1:07:16 |
63 | Heather Driver | 6:20 | 1:09 | 48:14 | 0:48 | 27:31 | 1:24:31 |
Mark Holgate was our only member out in this four miler.
4 Mark Holgate 23:04
254 finishers.
Mark Holgate had a cracking run out in this race to come home in third place and first V40.
3 Mark Holgate 36:46 (1st V40)
273 finishers.
The main aims of the club are to increase the participation of running in Barnoldswick and to keep organised running as accessible as possible.
