A trail marathon with over 7,000 ft of climb. That was the latest challenge for Cloey Mason. She finished in 67th position and 12th female in a time of 4:29:28. There were 297 starters.
We had no team selected for these relays, but Sam Boardman stepped up to the mark at the last minute, put a team together which qualified for the finals in Birmingham. Well done to Sam and to everyone who turned out and put in such good performances. Sam has put together a report of the day.
It was good to see a record number of Barlickers taking part in this race and it was good to see Jimmy Craig back racing. He is not yet back to his old self, but he was up there, coming home in 6th place. We had quite a few women out and they all put in some great performances. Leanne Dinsdale was back out racing and although she was nursing an injury and ostensibly going steady, she still led the girls home, finishing 6th female. The conditions were not the best for this race, as in view of the recent inclement weather, there was quite a bit of mud about which made the climbs even more energy sapping.
6 Jimmy Craig 17:01
17 Andy Berry 18:54
53 Zac Kaye 21:07
67 John Boothman 22:07
72 Leanne Dinsdale 22:31 (6th female)

112 Jenna Boothman 24:51 (GU15)
128 Eleanor Moore 26:42
135 Eve Boothman 27:22
163 Anne Marie Beech 30:34
Only one Barlicker out in this race and he was the one man you could have forgiven for not running this week after his 55 mile run last week in arctic conditions. Considering the state of his legs after last week he had a pretty reasonable run finishing in 47 position.

This event was held at Dalby forest and was the North Yorkshire Schools Cross Country finals. This was the culmination of several rounds covering all North Yorkshire Schools.
Jacob Reeday ran in year 6 boys and had a storming run. He was well clear coming out of the woods, finished way ahead of the rest of the field and winning in amazing style. What a way to win a final.
Lucille Pickles and Chloe Boothman ran in the year 6 girls. Lucille had a great run and was 4th coming out of the woods, but she got pipped by a couple of other runners and finished 6th. Chloe had a really strong run, finishing somewhere mid field.
The main aims of the club are to increase the participation of running in Barnoldswick and to keep organised running as accessible as possible.
