Thomas Corrigan and Will Onek were both representing Lancashire at the weekend in Loughborough after their good showing at the Lancashire championships. Tom has been brilliant this season, winning the Mid Lancs Cross Country League outright and he followed this up in this race by finishing 4th Lancs counter and 85th overall. Will was a few seconds back with another good run being 6th Lancs counter on the day and 89th overall. Reigning silver and bronze medalist for 10,000m and 5,000m Andy Vernon won the race with a commanding performance and a time of 37.50.

This race is a tough challenge. At nearly 32 miles, it is longer than a marathon and in addition, there is nearly 4,400 feet of ascent.
It was perhaps no surprise that Tom Beebe led the Barlickers home. He is good at these long races where you have to keep plodding on remorselessly on. Second home for Barlick was Lorraine Slater. For her first venture in an ultra race, she did remarkably well. She was 11th lady and first FV45.

A few of our juniors turned out for these races and produced some good performances. From a field of 64 runners, Isaac Reeday had a great run to finish as the race winner, with Harley Treitl close behind him in 6th place. In the under 15 race, Jack Villiers put in another sound performance to come home in 5th place.
