He has been threatening it for a while, but at last, Sam Horrocks has taken a race win, chased home by team mate Andy Collins. In the ladies race, Izzy Powell took the honours chased home by her team mate, the evergreen Jean Powell.
The numbers were down this year and the race was reminiscent of races in the 1980s when numbers were much smaller and fell running, although competitive in the race, had a friendly atmosphere amongst the runners both before and after the race.
