It was good to see Tom Corrigan back out again running and as usual, he gave it everything. After the climb up to Watersheddles Reservoir, he was just behind the eventual race winner, but as the race went on, the advantage fell to the younger man and he had to settle for second place ahead of that evergreen of fell running, Ian Holmes. Ben Whitehead had a cracking run, but was eventually caught by Dave Mirfield and they crossed the line together, making it three Barlickers in the top ten.
Robert Cranham had a very strong run up to the reservoir which he reached before Andy Berry, but eventually Andy hauled him back and finished just in front of him. There were good performances all round from the Barlickers and even Carl Pawson put in some effort instead of his usual jog to the pub. Poor old John Boothman. He did his best as always, but he has been devilled by a leg injury which his doctor is struggling to diagnose and he finished further down the field than one would normally expect.
The Barlickers finished as follows:
2 Tom Corrigan 57:02 (1st M40)
7= Ben Whitehead 59:58 (2nd M40)
7= Dave Mirfield 59:58 (2nd M40)
14 Andy Berry 65:21
16 Robert Cranham 65:48
21 David Pease 68:30 (3rd M50)
25 John Mason 71:24
26 Andrew Smith 71:35 (1st M60)
27 Stan Dreilling 72:31
53 Carl Pawson 81:15
61 John Boothman 83:25
