Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. Great Hameldon - 5 May 2024

Good to see some juniors out racing and they finished as follows:

U9
5 Jude Mirfield 2:31

U11
9 Theo Mirfield 12:07
13 Bradley Robinson 14:10

It was a very pleasant day out on the fells, although maybe a bit warm for the runners.  The race was won by Oli Murphy who built up an early lead and never looked under threat even though there were good runners in his wake.  Leading Barlick home was David Mirfield with a top five finish followed by Ian Cocks who just got pipped to a top ten place.

Again our girls put on a good show taking positions 3,4,5 in the ladies race.

It was nice to see the club having some runners in the junior races and their details can be found on the Junior Website

5 David Mirfield 4152 (2nd M40)
11 Ian Cocks 45:15 (3rd M40)
13 Nick Treitl 45:52
14 Andy Berry 45:57
22 David Pease 47:18
45 Andrew Smith 51:25 (2nd M60)
164 Raymond Banks 1:12:26
165 Robert Cranham 1:12:32

Ladies Race
3 Emma Law 52:22 (1st W40)
4 Jacqueline Collins 55:17 (2nd W40)
5 Lucy Brown 55:30 (3rd W40)
36 Lisa Gee 1:09:11
37 Hannah Newbold 1:09:11

54 Anthony Brown 24:36

48 Raymond Banks 23:03
328 Stephen Jackson 34:57

53 Robert Cranham 31:52

7 Lucy Brown 26:59

This will be from the Old Stone Trough at Kelbrook.  Be there ready for a 7:00 pm start.

This is a seven and a half mile race over road, bridleway and footpaths with deceptive undulation and offering some fine view over Calderdale & Kirklees. Craig Shearer took part in what became a two horse race, with Craig being pipped at the post by Dom Carter of York Postal Harriers, but a good performance from Craig nevertheless.

2 Craig Shearer 46:17

165 finishers.

27 Jimmy Craig 3:32:47
35 Julian Hood 3:38:40
258 John Mason 4:35:10
285 Laura Craig 4:39:29
374 Hannah Newbold 4:55:35
515 Jacqueline Collins 5:28:12
