Membership fees

Despite the name, the club participates in all disciplines of running, fell, cross country and road and welcomes applications from runners of all abilities to join us. If you are not sure if the club is for you, why not come to one of our training sessions or one of our regular pub runs. You will be under no obligation to join, but you will get a feel for the club and a better idea if the club is for you. You can merely turn up to a training session unannounced, but it would be better if you contacted our club secretary first (details on the contacts page) and let him know that you will be coming and he will make sure that whoever is leading the group will look out for you. If you are an absolute beginner to running, you too are most welcome to join us in one of our sessions, but please contact our secretary first and he will make sure that you will have a programme with which you are comfortable. The race at Leyland this coming weekend was the last of the season, but due to flooding on the course, it has had to be cancelled.  The organisers have been unsuccessful in finding an alternative venue and the tables stand as they were after Rossall.  For the club, this has been another very successful year in this league.  What is particularly nice this year is that our newly formed junior section gained bronze in the under 11 boys division.  What will these youngsters do once they have a bit more racing experience?

Since we joined this league, then men's team has gained promotion every year  and this year has been no different.  Next year, they will be in Division 1 and will be competing against the best.

Our ladies too have also had a good season winning Division 3 and gaining promotion to Division 2.

Our V40 men are promoted to Division 1 and our men's B team finished top of Division 4 and obtained promotion to Division 3.

All in all, it has been another very successful year for the club in this league and when you look at the league tables below, it is hard to believe that we have only been in existence for three years.  The fact that we have achieved so much in such a short time speaks volumes about the spirit that exists within the club.

Final League Positions

Dan Balshaw  and Annabell Ralph made the trip to Oulton Park for this 10K and put in cracking performances.  Dan Balshaw won the race outright in 34:48 and Annabell had a great run too to finish 12th overall and 2nd lady with a new PB of 39:22.

James Tingle has been hammering races recently and he was rewarded today by finishing 5th with a new pb of 37:04.

Only one Barliicker ran, Angela Donlan, in this race,   However, she continued with her present good form finishing in 130th position with a time of 1:26:14.  There are no official results out yet, but it appears that Angela is 2nd FV40.

Three Barlick Vests were on display in Malta this weekend.  By all accounts, the conditions for this race were tough with 20 degree heat and 30 mph wind.

Barlick dominated this race.  Three men in the top ten saw them take the team prize by one point over Todmorden Harriers.  The ladies were led home by Paula Cullen, and again, three in the top ten saw them also take the team prize.  A nice double for the club today.
