It is tough at the front of a race. Lucille Pickles won her race, but such was the competition that she only won it by one second. On the other hand, Jack Villiers was beaten into second place by just one second. Two great performances by two very talented (and hard working) young athletes.

Men win the team prize
Dan Mills had a cracking run to finish third in this race. Luckily, he was not alone, with another three team mates also putting in great performances to finish in the top ten. No one else had this strength in depth and the club came away with the team prize.
In the ladies race, Emma Taylor had a particularly good run to secure a top ten finish against some stern competition.

Des Walkden has been quietly working away at his running and today, it paid off. He was flying past people down the "black runs", a sight that we have not seen from Des for a while, finishing in a respectable time of 1:55 and 4th in his age category.

It was a sunny, but cold day that greeted the runners for this linear run from Wycoller to Haworth and it was good to see so many Barlickers out there, including a few faces who have not been racing for a while.
First back for Barlick was David Mirfield in 5th place and for his comeback race after a period of injury, Andy Collins had a good run to finish in the top twenty.
His wife led the Barlick ladies home, just managing to keep in front of Jen Hird. Nicola Muller was going well until she went over on her ankle and had to get a lift to the finish from Ponden.

The main aims of the club are to increase the participation of running in Barnoldswick and to keep organised running as accessible as possible.
